Learn through play

Whatever the goal, we know that the key to making progress with children is FUN! We work to show our clients and families the power of play by teaching communication in a way that makes your child love therapy.

Reach communication goals

We can help you no matter what your communication goals are. Some areas that may be targeted during your child’s therapy sessions may include:

  • Receptive Language/Comprehension - building your child’s ability to understand language needed to identify objects and people in their environment, follow directions, and answer questions

  • Expressive Language/Use of Language - expand your child’s ability to communicate their wants, needs, ideas, and feelings

  • Play/Social Communication - play-based therapy will lay the foundation for social skills by building joint attention and learning how to use language for a variety of purposes

  • Articulation/Phonology/Motor speech disorders - If your child uses verbal language, but is difficult to understand or has trouble producing certain sounds, we can help!

What do services look like?

An initial evaluation will be completed to determine your child’s specific needs and learn about your goals for them. Evaluations are typically between 1-1.5 hours long and may include formal assessment and/or play-based assessment based on the developmental and chronological age of your child. Following the evaluation, your therapist will develop a plan of care with goals to target during therapy.

Following the comprehensive evaluation, the duration and frequency of therapy will be decided based on your child’s needs and goals. Therapy sessions will take place in your home or your child’s daycare, private school, or other community space. We serve Allen, Wylie, Sachse and surrounding areas. Therapy sessions are 1:1 and individualized to the needs of your child. Depending on your child’s goals, parent training and involvement may be recommended during sessions. Home practice and strategies will also be provided to encourage carryover and empower parents as communication partners.
